A webmail interface is also available at webmail.lexi.net.
For configuring your email program on a device such as a tablet or smart phone, the following information is required. You may use either POP3 or IMAP.
Incoming Mail (POP3 or IMAP) Server | mail.lexi.net |
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server | mail.lexi.net |
POP3 Port | 110 (default – nonssl) 995 (default – ssl) |
IMAP Port | 143 (default – nonssl) 993 (default – ssl) |
SMTP Port | 587 (nonssl or STARTTLS) |
You must enable authentication for both incoming and outgoing mail. The username in both cases is the complete email address.
In general, you will not need to change the port numbers for POP3 or IMAP. Your email software will select the correct one automatically. Some email software will select the correct port for SMTP but it is more likely you will have to modify that port.
NOTE: if you have a choice between SSL and STARTTLS for outgoing (SMTP), choose STARTTLS. If you have only SSL as an option, then SSL may work. If there is an “auto” option, that may also work.
If you receive a notice about certificates not matching when setting up your email software or device, try changing the mail server to be “mail.lexi.net”. If that does not work, your device may not be handling the certificate properly in which case, you should check carefully that the certificate presented belongs to Lexicom before adding an exception or accepting the certificate. The correct certificate will identify itself as being for “mail.lexi.net” and will be issued by Let’s Encrypt.
